    Outer Ra'Kaznar Added

    February 18, 2014 – Adventurers gain access to the mysterious structure located deep within Kamihr Drifts known as Outer Ra'Kaznar. Exploring its complex internal structure involves traversing between the upper and lower floors. Ra'Kaznar Inner Court, a new area accessible from Outer Ra'Kaznar via elevator, is later revealed in August 2014.

    February 18, 2014 – The text command /checkparam is added via version update. Using the command displays the attack, accuracy, evasion, and other parameter values for the user and their pets in chat. This is also the first time that accuracy and evasion values are revealed in-game.

    Job Points

    March 18, 2014 - Job points are added as a way for players to progress after reaching level 99. Vanquishing monsters of level 96 and above yields capacity points for a player’s main job, and 1 job point is earned for every 30,000 capacity points. Accumulated job points can then be allocated for enhancements in various categories.

    Cait Sith Avatar

    March 18, 2014 – The quest "Champion of the Dawn" is added, enabling adventurers to form a pact with Cait Sith. Cait Sith specializes in supportive Blood Pacts such as Mewing Lullaby, which puts surrounding enemies to sleep and lowers their TP, as well as Altana's Favor, which grants the effects of Arise or Reraise III to nearby party members.

    Chatty Alter Egos

    March 18, 2014 – Alter egos gain the ability to utter character-specific dialogue in party chat during certain situations. Furthermore, alter egos can now accompany adventurers to fight alongside them in most battlefield encounters, including those featured in nation missions.

    Racial Maximum HP and MP Adjusted

    April 8, 2014 – Adjustments are made to reduce the disparity in maximum HP and MP between different races. Prior to this update, the hulking Galka had the highest HP while the cunning Tarutaru boasted the most MP.

    Ergon Weapons Implemented

    May 15, 2014 – Ergon weapons are added as the Mythic weapon equivalents for geomancers and rune fencers. Undertaking the quest to make the Ergon weapons requires adventurers to have obtained all artifact equipment for the corresponding job and to have attained Legend rank in all coalitions.

    New Food Items Beneficial for both PCs and Pets Added

    May 15, 2014 – Synthesis recipes introduce new food items which bestow effects on both an adventurer and their pet. These include Shiromochi, which increases HP, accuracy, and ranged accuracy, and Kusamochi, which increases HP, attack, and ranged attack.

    Mog Wardrobe Implemented

    May 15, 2014 – The Mog Wardrobe storage system is implemented. While only equipment can be stored, the stored items can be equipped from any location, freeing up inventory slots for players who carry around various equipment to swap into. Mog Wardrobe 2 is later added in 2016, along with additional Mog Wardrobes as optional paid services. As of 2022, players may have up to eight Mog Wardrobes active.

    Displayed TP Changes

    June 17, 2014 - Displayed TP values are changed from 0%-300% to 0-3000. Party member TP, as well as allliance member MP and TP now display in the party list. The help text for a number of items and abilities are altered as a result of this change.

    Overhaul of Weapon Skills

    June 17, 2014 – Weapon skills undergo major adjustments to their attribute modifiers and TP bonuses. Their effects are also changed to scale based on the item level of the main weapon, giving new purpose to weapon skills learned in early levels even in higher level battles.

    A Dozen Per Stack

    June 17, 2014 - Various crafting materials, such as ores, logs, and hides can now be stored as stacks of 12, improving inventory management for mining, gathering, and crafting. Furthermore, gathering points are now indicated by visual effects, rendering them visible without having to cycle through targets to locate mining, logging, or harvesting points.

    Synthesis Kits Added

    June 17, 2014 – Synthesis kits are added as a means of streamlining the synthesis process and are made purchasable at crafting guilds and auction houses. Players only need to be in possession of the kit itself and the necessary crystals to craft the item listed in the kit's description, offering an easier method of increasing their synthesis skill.

    Synthesis History Added

    June 17, 2014 – The Synthesis option is added to the main menu, which keeps track of the last 10 syntheses performed and allows them to be repeated should the player possess the necessary items. The /lastsynth command is also introduced, allowing players to repeat their last synthesis via macro.

    Behind-the-scenes Commentary
    Trial and Error to Address Player Requests

    Gear sets were developed alongside Mog Wardrobes as a way to address the demand for additional storage and macros. Since simply increasing storage would only exasperate the issue with the lack of macros, we proceeded with a feature that would allow players to save full outfits through an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI for gear swapping macros was coming along fine, with the exception of maintaining the appearance of the weapons.
    In order to avoid a conflict between functions, we temporarily only maintained armor appearances as we gradually worked on resolving issues. I remember working together around the clock with the engineer in charge to get the implementation done... (Yoji Fujito, Director)

    Resolving Long-standing Concerns with Lockstyle

    The strategy of using macros to swap gear for casting, landing a hit, etc. had me impressed. However, as the Battle Director, I disliked how gear swapping would redraw the character and disengage the targeting for any party members who had them targeted.

    Alluvion Skirmishes Added

    August 12, 2014 – A higher difficulty version of skirmishes, known as alluvion skirmishes, is added to Rala Waterways [U] and Cirdas Caverns [U], followed by other areas in later version updates. Adventurers may participate in these skirmishes by utilizing an Augural Conveyer to enter an otherworldly realm where the monsters, conditions, and topographical features vary with each encounter. The equipment earned in alluvion skirmishes can be engraved with arcane glyptics (augments) in exchange for particular items and obsidian fragments.

    Warp Ring Added

    August 12, 2014 – The warp ring is made available in exchange for Conquest points, allowing adventurers to warp back to their home point. With infinite uses and a recast time of only 10 minutes, the warp ring proves to be a more convenient method of travel than using a scroll of instant warp and becomes a valuable commodity for many adventurers.

    Option to Change the Title Music Added

    August 12, 2014 – An option to change the title music is added to the Config menu of the title screen. Whereas the latest title music was always played prior to this addition, the new option enables players to select from any previous title music or have a random one played each time.

    Surge Walks Added

    September 9, 2014 – Surge walks are added to Walk of Echoes, granting walks a chance to enter surge mode, which yields capacity points and high-quality versions of equipment earned from ordinary walks. Furthermore, another bonus mode known as Endowed Walks also has a chance to occur, offering a staggering number of temporary items.

    Incursion Added

    September 9, 2014 – Incursion battles are added, in which the primary objective is to vanquish the Velkk, the beast tribe inhabiting Adoulin areas. Defeating certain notorious monsters while undertaking an Incursion grants key items which can be used to increase the content level of the next Incursion; doing so grants adventurers an opportunity to fight the king of the Velkk, Gramk-Droog.

    Conveying Arciela’s Love Through Song

    After having read the story of Seekers of Adoulin for the first time, I was taken by how adorable the heroine was. And when I saw the heroine’s actual appearance, I was taken by her beauty.
    When the adventures with the heroine, Arciela, drew to an end, I was tasked with writing her honest feelings from her point of view. I remember it being an immense struggle for me, because if you were to ask me, I’d be better suited for impersonating someone like Shantotto...
    In the end, Mika Kobayashi’s beautiful vocals molded the song into Arciela’s own emotions, thus fulfilling my goal of conveying Arciela’s love to you! (Yaeko Sato, Planner)
