Behind-the-scenes CommentaryNyzul Isle Investigation was designed as a sort of “mystery dungeon” where the interior is randomly arranged each time you enter. Battle rewards from there are quite unique in that they're a mystery until you appraise them. Since Rhapsodies of Vana’diel, even after solo participation has been made possible with the eased entry requirements for Assault and introduction of item level equipment, Nyzul Isle Investigation has grown into content that is still frequented by adventurers seeking powerful rewards. Behind-the-scenes Commentary
After Treasures of Aht Urhgan took us to a remote and foreign land, I started thinking about the next expansion and was drawn to the Crystal War, which even players with minimal interest in the story had probably heard about.
It was only described through bits and pieces of the story, so wouldn’t it be great to find out what actually took place? And what better way than to experience them in person? I remember playing around with these ideas and having a lot of fun coming up with how adventurers would go back in time. (Koichi Ogawa, Director)
