February 10, 2017 – New routes are added to Omen, including one in which mini-bosses do not appear. This route is intended for those seeking job cards, which are awarded upon defeating monsters or completing objectives and are required for reforging artifact armor.

February 10, 2017 - Shields which draw forth the true craftsmanship skills of players, known as Escutcheons, are added. Reaching the rank of Expert unlocks the questline to obtain and upgrade them. Further upgrade steps are gradually added, and the final step is made available on September 11, 2017.

February 10, 2017 – Due to the effects of certain geomancy colures surpassing expectations, their values are adjusted in order to maintain balance in future content. Alongside this change, the combat skills, magic skills, and magic evasion of high-level monsters are lowered.

March 10, 2017 – The boss monster Ou makes its way into Omen. Challenging this new foe requires five different key items obtained from defeating the preceding Omen bosses. Along with this addition, the maximum number of participants in Omen is increased from 6 to 18.

June 15, 2017 through May 15, 2018 - Let's Go! Vana'diel Day! is held on every 15th day of the month as part of the 15th anniversary celebration. The content varies with each event, and the official website only displays a key phrase.

July 5, 2017 - The "Vana'versary" category is added to Records of Eminence. Various nostalgic objectives take adventurers on a trip to experience a little slice of what Vana'diel was like in the past. While there aren't any special rewards for completion, the objectives are still available today.

August 3, 2017 – Boisterous Jackal emerges in Lower Jeuno to share his knowledge on the strange apparatuses located in various parts of Vana'diel. Coinciding with his arrival, adventurers who register doctor status with the strange apparatuses no longer lose their status upon logging out or changing areas. Furthermore, those with doctor status may enter a player character-specific password at Fei'Yin to attain administrator status.

August 10 through 24, 2017 – The Grand Duchy of Jeuno livens up its streets with the Green Festival. This mid-summer celebration features the Morbol Café, a limited-time establishment in Lower Jeuno offering Morbol-themed goods. The event is held alongside real-life initiatives including a promotional website and a fictitious news report.

September 11, 2017 – Cornelia is implemented as an alter ego after placing first in the 15th Vana'versary The One I Can Trust Campaign. Cornelia’s alter ego is not an active fighter but provides incredibly welcome bonuses to haste, accuracy, ranged accuracy, and magic accuracy, making her presence essential in many adventurers’ parties. She is temporarily retired on May 10, 2018 due to her limited-time status, but is later enthusiastically welcomed back between May 10 and November 10 in 2022.

October 11, 2017 – Skillchain attribute information is added to weapon skill help text. Information regarding skillchains and how they are initiated is also added to the adventuring primer.

October 11, 2017 – Ark Angel HM's alter ego is added, marking the fifth and final Ark Angel alter ego since the first was implemented on September 6, 2016.

November 10, 2017 - Dynamis-Divergence is added, along with instanced areas of the four nations' Dynamis [D] areas. Item level 119 relic equipment, as well as relic, mythic, empyrean, and aeonic weapons can be further reforged.
